MeshPath

MeshPath Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 2, 2026 Publisher: teeologica LLC, a Washington limited liability company ("teeologica," "we," "us," or "our")

This Privacy Policy explains how MeshPath (the "App") handles information. It applies to the App distributed by teeologica and to support communications about MeshPath. It does not govern independent services operated by Apple, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Mapzen, internet providers, or other third parties.

1. Short version

MeshPath currently has no teeologica account system, advertising SDK, cross-app tracking, third-party analytics SDK, or teeologica-operated application server. Site coordinates, radio settings, saved analyses, and generated plots are stored and processed on your device.

The App is not fully offline. It uses Apple Maps, Apple’s App Store/StoreKit services, and a public AWS S3 bucket for terrain tiles. When you use those functions, your device communicates directly with the relevant provider. A terrain request discloses network information and the requested one-degree geographic tile identifier to AWS and the public bucket operator. Apple separately processes map, App Store, purchase, device, and diagnostic information under Apple’s policies and your device settings. Teeologica does not receive your precise sites from these requests through a teeologica server.

2. Information processed on your device

Depending on how you use the App, it processes and stores locally:

Teeologica does not receive this locally processed content unless you deliberately include it in a support request or share/export it using a destination you select. Other people or apps with access to your unlocked device, its backups, or an export may be able to access it.

3. Network disclosures and external providers

Terrain downloads from AWS Open Data

When an analysis requires terrain that is not already cached, the App constructs a URL such as https://elevation-tiles-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/skadi/N47/N47W122.hgt.gz and downloads that file over HTTPS. The tile name identifies an approximately one-degree latitude/longitude area. AWS or the bucket operator may automatically receive and process:

Those parties control their logs, purposes, retention, disclosures, security, and international processing. Teeologica does not control the public bucket and cannot delete its logs. AWS describes automatic collection of IP address, device/location, content-download, API-call, and other log information in the AWS Privacy Notice. Do not request terrain for sensitive locations if this disclosure is unacceptable. You can avoid new terrain requests by not starting analyses that need uncached terrain, use the App offline with already cached data where functionality permits, and clear downloaded tiles in Settings.

Apple Maps and MapKit

The App displays Apple maps and lets you select coordinates. Apple may process map requests, viewed regions, search queries and selected search results, map snapshots used in PDF reports, IP address, device information, and other information under the Apple Privacy Policy and Maps privacy information. Teeologica does not receive Apple’s underlying map-service logs. The App does not request GPS/location permission, access continuous background location, or maintain a teeologica location history. Site coordinates come from your map selections, search selections, or manual entries.

App Store, StoreKit, purchases, and Apple analytics

Apple processes downloads, subscriptions, payments, refunds, entitlements, fraud prevention, and App Store activity under Apple’s policies. Teeologica does not receive your full payment-card details or Apple Account password. The App receives signed transaction/entitlement information needed to unlock purchased features. Apple may provide teeologica with financial, sales, crash, and aggregated or privacy-protected App Analytics information through App Store Connect, depending on Apple’s service and your settings. That information does not include the site coordinates saved in MeshPath merely because you saved them locally.

Operating system, carrier, and destinations you choose

Apple, your carrier, DNS provider, network administrator, device-backup provider, and any service you select through a share sheet may independently process information. If you export or share a result, the selected destination’s terms and privacy policy apply. Teeologica is not the controller of those independent services.

4. Information teeologica receives directly

If you email or otherwise contact teeologica, we may receive your name, email address, message, attachments, diagnostic details, transaction context, and any coordinates or results you choose to provide. Do not send sensitive location information unless necessary.

We use support information to respond, troubleshoot, protect the App and users, enforce rights, and comply with law. We ordinarily retain support correspondence, attachments, and related diagnostic information for 24 months after the last interaction concerning the support matter, then delete or de-identify it. We may retain particular records longer when reasonably necessary for an unresolved support matter, security or fraud investigation, legal hold, dispute, enforcement of rights, or a legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligation. When the exception ends, we delete or de-identify the record unless a further lawful basis requires retention.

5. How information is used

Information is used as necessary to:

Teeologica does not use MeshPath data for targeted advertising and does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The App does not use the advertising identifier and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

6. Legal bases for users in the EEA, UK, or similar jurisdictions

Where applicable, teeologica processes information it directly receives based on one or more of:

Apple, AWS, and other independent providers determine their own legal bases for processing they control. Local on-device processing generally remains under your control.

7. Disclosure of information

Teeologica may disclose information it actually possesses:

At present, teeologica does not send your saved sites or App analyses to its own service providers. Direct device communications with Apple and AWS are described above.

8. Retention and deletion

Local sites, settings, cached terrain, and results remain on your device until you delete them, clear the applicable cache, erase or replace the device, restore a backup, or uninstall the App, subject to Apple’s device and backup behavior. The App’s Settings screen provides a terrain-cache control. Delete saved sites and results using the App’s available controls; deleting a source site may not automatically remove every derived or exported copy.

Teeologica cannot access or remotely delete data that exists only on your device. To remove it, use the App’s controls and, if desired, delete the App and relevant device/cloud backups you control. Apple controls App Store transaction records and Apple-hosted backups. AWS or other providers control their service logs. Requests to those providers must be directed to them.

Support information and App Store business records are retained as described in Sections 3 and 4 and as required by tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute, and other laws.

9. Security

Terrain requests use HTTPS, and local data benefits from security features provided by iOS/iPadOS and your device configuration. No storage or transmission method is guaranteed secure. Protect your device with a passcode, keep the operating system current, restrict physical and backup access, and avoid placing confidential facts in site names. Teeologica cannot secure exports, devices, networks, backups, or third-party services outside its control.

10. Your choices and rights

You can choose what sites to create, whether to initiate an analysis that downloads terrain, whether to purchase, what to export, and when to delete local data or clear the terrain cache. You can manage subscriptions in your Apple Account and applicable Apple settings.

Depending on where you live and subject to exceptions, you may have rights regarding personal information teeologica controls, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, and appeal. Because teeologica does not have MeshPath user accounts and cannot identify or access device-only content, we may have no corresponding server record. We may need to verify a request before acting. You may lodge a complaint with your local privacy or data-protection authority.

Teeologica does not discriminate against a user for exercising a privacy right. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California privacy law, and therefore do not provide a sale/share opt-out for the App’s present operation.

11. Children

MeshPath is a technical radio-planning tool not directed to children under 13 or the higher minimum age required where they live. Teeologica does not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child through a MeshPath account or backend. If you believe a child sent personal information to teeologica support, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted where required.

12. International processing

Apple, AWS, support providers, and other parties may process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different privacy laws. Each independent provider describes its own transfer mechanisms. If teeologica begins using a service provider to process App personal information internationally, this policy and required contractual safeguards must be updated before that processing begins.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect product, provider, legal, or operational changes. We will change the effective date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required. Material new collection will not be hidden behind a policy update; the App and App Store disclosures must be updated before or with the relevant release.
