MeshPath Supplemental Safety and Use Terms

Effective date: October 2, 2026 Terms version: 2026-10-02-safety-2 Publisher: teeologica LLC, a Washington limited liability company ("teeologica," "we," "us," or "our")

1. Relationship to Apple’s Standard EULA

Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA") governs the license to MeshPath (the "App"). These Supplemental Safety and Use Terms ("Safety Terms") add product-specific safety restrictions, acceptable-use rules, technical limitations, and notices. They do not grant a separate software license or replace the Standard EULA.

If these Safety Terms conflict with the Standard EULA concerning the scope of the license, Apple’s rights, or an obligation that Apple requires, the Standard EULA controls. The MeshPath Privacy Policy and Terrain Data & Third-Party Notices are incorporated by reference. Third-party licenses control for the third-party material to which they apply.

By selecting “Accept & Continue” or using the App after these Safety Terms are presented, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the App. Mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected.

2. Experimental hobby tool; no validation

MeshPath is an experimental, general-information tool for personal hobby planning and education only. It estimates terrain, line of sight, Fresnel clearance, path loss, received signal strength, coverage, visibility, and possible radio placement.

The App and its outputs have not been independently certified, calibrated, field-validated, or demonstrated to satisfy any engineering, reliability, availability, safety, navigation, surveying, or regulatory standard. Outputs are predictions—not measurements, guarantees, professional opinions, or promises that a radio link will or will not work.

Results can be inaccurate, incomplete, stale, unavailable, internally inconsistent, or materially wrong because of software defects; model and numerical assumptions; incorrect inputs; terrain resolution, voids, interpolation, or missing tiles; buildings and vegetation; antenna patterns and polarization; feed-line losses; interference; weather; equipment variation; and other conditions the App does not model.

3. Prohibited reliance and uses

You must not use or rely on the App or any output for:

Do not present an output as measured, surveyed, certified, professionally approved, or endorsed by teeologica, Apple, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Mapzen, the Linux Foundation, NTIA, NOAA, USGS, or any other provider.

4. Independent verification and safe fallback

Before acting on an output, independently verify all inputs and results using authoritative current data, suitable calibrated measurements, lawful equipment settings, controlled field testing, and qualified professionals where appropriate. Maintain a safe alternative communication method and operational fallback. Never assume a predicted link will be available when needed.

The App does not identify every hazard, obstacle, building, tree, restricted area, property right, utility, aviation constraint, or current ground condition. Do not enter property, climb, install equipment, energize a system, or transmit based only on the App.

5. Radio and legal compliance are your responsibility

The App does not grant a spectrum or operator license, equipment authorization, land-access right, permit, or permission to install or operate anything. Permitted frequency, power, effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP), bandwidth, duty cycle, antenna, height, channel, location, and purpose vary by jurisdiction, radio service, operator privileges, and equipment authorization.

You are responsible for determining and complying with all applicable laws and third-party rights; using properly authorized equipment; obtaining licenses, permits, consent, and professional review; avoiding harmful interference; observing RF-exposure and electrical-safety requirements; and stopping or correcting operation when required. Presets, labels, suggested values, and calculations are not legal advice and do not establish legality.

6. Terrain, maps, and location limitations

The App currently requests Mapzen Terrain Tiles from the public AWS Open Data S3 bucket elevation-tiles-prod. AWS hosts access to the dataset but is not represented as the creator or owner of all elevation data. The tiles are a worldwide composite assembled from multiple providers and resolutions, which may include USGS, NOAA, ArcticDEM and other regional sources depending on location. This is a description of the upstream composite, not a claim that every dataset is used for every analysis. Skadi tiles do not provide the App with a source identifier for each height sample.

The terrain is generally intended to represent bare-earth elevation. It may omit or misrepresent buildings, vegetation, water, cliffs, recent grading, landslides, obstructions, and other real conditions. The App downloads compressed Skadi/HGT tiles, caches and decompresses them, interpolates samples, and creates derived profiles and visualizations. These transformations can add error and are not approved or endorsed by any data provider.

Data and services may be incomplete, unavailable, changed, throttled, relocated, or discontinued. Source quality, age, terms, and geographic coverage vary. NOAA states that ETOPO1 is not suitable for navigation. Neither the App nor its terrain or map content may be used for navigation or surveying.

The Terrain Data & Third-Party Notices identify the composite sources, required attributions, modifications, and provider limitations. You must preserve applicable warnings and attribution when sharing an output. Do not redistribute cached terrain tiles without separately confirming that the redistribution and attribution comply with every applicable source license.

7. Propagation-model limitations

The App incorporates and modifies the U.S. National Telecommunications and Information Administration Irregular Terrain Model (ITM/Longley–Rice) software. NTIA provides that software without a warranty of correctness, accuracy, reliability, usefulness, non-infringement, or data accuracy and does not intend it for situations where failure could risk injury or property damage.

ITM has defined parameter ranges, assumptions, warnings, and error conditions and does not simulate every radio system or environment. The App’s interface, presets, terrain sampling, surrounding calculations, fallbacks, and integration are teeologica’s work and have not been certified by NTIA. Labels such as “line of sight,” “coverage,” “visibility,” “link,” “margin,” “clear,” “viable,” or “unavailable” identify estimates or display categories only.

8. Inputs, outputs, exports, and user conduct

You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, completeness, and suitability of coordinates, names, radio parameters, environmental settings, and other inputs. You must have all rights and permissions needed for information you enter or share.

You may share App-generated output only if you preserve its safety warning and applicable attribution, do not mischaracterize it, and tell recipients to verify it independently. Exports may disclose locations, radio configurations, or other sensitive information. Reports are generated locally and are shared only through a destination you select. Protect your device and choose sharing destinations carefully.

You must not use the App to violate law or third-party rights; invade privacy; facilitate wrongdoing; create harmful interference; bypass security or usage limits; burden Apple, AWS, or another service with automated or excessive requests; remove warnings or attribution; or misrepresent affiliation, approval, accuracy, or certification.

9. External services and privacy

The App may access Apple Maps/MapKit, the App Store and StoreKit, AWS-hosted terrain data, websites, and other independent services. Those services may have separate terms, privacy practices, geographic limits, outages, and fees. Teeologica does not control or guarantee their availability, content, security, accuracy, or conduct.

Terrain requests disclose a one-degree geographic tile identifier and ordinary network information, including an IP address, to AWS or the public bucket operator. Apple separately processes map regions, location-search queries and map snapshots, as well as purchases and entitlements through its services. See the MeshPath Privacy Policy before using the App with sensitive locations.

10. Subscriptions

Optional subscriptions are offered through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Apple displays price, duration, renewal, trial eligibility, taxes, and available cancellation or refund mechanisms. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription. Manage or cancel through your Apple Account. The Standard EULA and Apple’s applicable terms govern App Store billing and transactions.

11. Disclaimers and responsibility

The Standard EULA’s warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability apply to the maximum extent permitted by law. These Safety Terms do not create any warranty, service level, professional duty, fiduciary duty, or promise of accuracy, availability, fitness, validation, or regulatory compliance and do not expand teeologica’s or Apple’s liability under the Standard EULA.

You assume responsibility for deciding whether the App is suitable for a non-critical hobby activity, verifying results, complying with law, and safely conducting any field activity. Some jurisdictions do not permit particular disclaimers or limitations; in that event, they apply only to the maximum extent permitted, and non-waivable rights remain in effect.

12. Changes, severability, and governing law

We may update these Safety Terms for product, provider, legal, or safety changes. When required, the App will present revised terms for acceptance before further use. The version shown above identifies the terms presented in this release.

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions remain effective. Subject to non-waivable consumer rights and the Standard EULA, Washington law governs these Safety Terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes against teeologica concerning these Safety Terms must be brought in state or federal courts serving Clark County, Washington. This paragraph does not deprive a consumer of a mandatory forum or protection available under applicable law.
